What is Bleed?

Bleed in the printing industry means that the artwork is printed all the way to the edge of the page. Unlike the digital copier the offset printing press has the ability to print on oversized papers, then the papers are trimmed down to the desired size. To achieve that bleed effect you need to add 1/8” of inch to all sided of the printed piece, if you don’t add the 1/8” any misalignment while cutting the paper will result with the artwork not running to edge of the paper.  See example below and download our free templates for most standard size printing. The table below shows the most popular and standard sized used for printing material. Acceptable file formats To enable jobs to fit into our automatic workflow, Moda Printing currently accepts files in three formats: EPS, TIFF or PDF. There are specific guidelines for each file type:

Moda Printing wants to make sure you have all the tools necessary to create a quality product, therefore we provide the following templates. These templates will act as helful resource in verifying that your artwork is correctly created.

To Print to the edge aft final cutting, (FULL BLEED) you must extend you image area at least thru the cyan box. Any text or imagery will be cut off the final piece if inside the CYAN Box.

Keep ALL text within Magenta border to insure your text will not be trimmed off.
Please make sure all imagery and or text are at least 300 dpi.
